"You have completed the first test," says the disembodied voice, "Continue upwards for the next test of knowledge, or go through the lower floor to get to the first of the combat tests. Twenty-six minutes remain."

"That knowledge test wasn't too difficult - why not try another knowledge exam, first? The combat tests, well.... no point on risking it in the haze of combat if we don't have to. Besides, the knowledge tests may provide a clue as to what we will face in the combat trials."
Agatha then begins moving up the stairs, but pauses at the first step, looking back behind her to the women and dwarf.

When Agatha's gaze lingers on the dwarf he speaks up, "Is there light up those stairs?"
The shadows in the room flicker briefly as Brinok nudges the orb sitting on the desk.

The room above appears to be lit in much the same manner as the room you are in. This one has the globe on a wall sconce instead of on a table. ((If you're going up I'll paste in the room description)).

Siena nods at the other woman's suggestion and begins following her up the stairs, "Let us hope this one goes as quickly as the first." She pauses when Agatha does and smirks at her, "To be honest, I am looking forward to the combat section. Now. Onward," she says, giving Agatha a slight shooing motion.

Brinok leaves the stone of light on the table and lines up with the others to head up the stairs.

This room is sparse, and though you are certain there should be more floors above, the stairs stop at this landing. Only a chest can be found in this room. This chest appears to be fairly plain with the exception of the top being a polished glass mirror that is covered in a thick layer of dust.
The voice begins speaking again, "When Charisma Cobblespell was an Enchanter of the Third Wind, she underwent a quest to find the spell book of her ancestor. Postulate on who the ancestor might have been, and where the spell book may have been found. When you have formulated your answer, write it in the dust on the mirror."
How this will work: There will be no initiative. Instead you can make a roll on roll20 and say the results here. This is a knowledge skill test, meaning that pretty much any knowledge roll will work, success is DC 20, but fail is only DC 13, 14-19 will work as aid another. If you want to pull from your other skills, be creative - make it work then I use use a successful DC 10 to work as aid another (+2 circumstance bonus) in a knowledge skill. The "room description" is in your journals on roll20.

First in the room, first to read the writing and hear the voice - and first to formulate part of an answer, as she searched her memory for who Charisma Cobblespell was, what she was known for, what city she was a native of, and what sort of ancestor might she have. Agatha was quick - perhaps almost too much so, the young woman could be rather impulsive!
OOC: ((I rolled on roll20 to you korth - knowledge (local) and got a perfect roll! 20 plus my 8 modifier (4 for ranks, 4 for intelligence) giving me a roll of 28, so a success (or maybe a double success if a 20 counts as two!). Do you want us to make up what we discover or did you have it all written up for us like with the first knowledge test?))

((OOC: Nice Roll))
Charisma is the Dean of the Outer Towers at the School of Song, Wind and Dance.
"Knowledge Local (DC 20) - Several years ago, the up and coming Charisma Cobblesmith disappeared in the south for over three years. It is said that during that time she found great power and humility. It is rumored that on her return she was on the cusp of casting spells from the Fifth Gale."

The dwarf hears the voice as he climbs the final steps, pausing to listen before finding a place to stand on this floor of the tower. Before following his own train of thought, Brinok considers how the others had answered earlier and begins the arduous task of mentally sorting through the study materials he'd been provided with that had kept him awake this past month. Idly he considers the work his peers had wrought in the city as well, wondering if a particular piece of work held clues about the question. When Agatha speaks of the southern region he moves a hand to idly stroke his beard, thinking about what lay beneath. He sighs at himself a bit loudly and tries to focus his wandering mind before the others find all the answers. ((OOC: See the attached image for the roll, feel free to pick what you feel is most appropriate - that 11 should be a 9, my tools don't apply here)) Attachments:

((Let's see if I can form a response...))
With Agatha's talk about Charisma traveling south with the Griffonsmith Family, Valdor is the next to start a response, Knowledge Nobility (DC 20) "The Cobblespell family can trace it's ancestry back through the Griffonsmith great family. This small part of the family has long been known to trade heavily with A'Equel and Wayholme." This is when the dwarf's mind starts to take hold of a picture in his mind of the local works of statues, and he remembers the story associated with a grove of statues in the kirk yard.
Substitute History (DC 20) for Craft (DC 25): The dwarf pipes up, "The Griffonsmiths have had several family members embroiled in the recent wars in northern Genisia, but the recent wars aren't the only time that the Griffonsmiths have worked at swaying the outcomes in the south. They have backed various powers in struggles to attempt to stabilize power. Many of their members have been lost here, but whenever possible they are repatriated and buried in the family catacomb in the kirk yard. When it isn't possible, they build a statue to memorialize the member." When the group begins prodding the dwarf for names of various members to see if it sparks anything the name Alexander Griffonsmith rings a bell to Siena.
Having studied some of the tales of the Griffonsmiths (Knowledge History (DC 20) Siena pipes up, "It was rumored that in times long ago, Alexander Griffonsmith converted to a new Religion. Though he still venerated Elan, he showed his praise through the Voice of Arianna. He was rumored to have been a strong magician with great potential when he went south, but no matter what was said he would not return home.
Almost done guys - 4 successes, no fails - round 2 begins - need 6 passes before 3 fails.
Looking for Geography and Religion or a substitute.
